I profess not to be any great writer.

These are the ponderings

of a poor man's mind.

Sea of Grass

When I stand at my kitchen window, usually washing dishes, I have a great view. It is acres of a field of grass. This time of the year it hasn't been cut yet. It's one of the last fields that the local farmer gets to, so the grass is tall and when the wind blows it's like the waves on the ocean.

That inspired me to get out the video camera and put this piece together. I grew up near the ocean and often found myself on the beach or out on Long Island Sound in a boat. The rolling waves of the Sound match the rolling of the grasses. The sea foam is the bulky seed heads at the tip of each stem. The wind does what wind does...it blows across the surface creating waves both beautiful and at times random. In its totality it reminds me of the ocean, the tides...home.

Let me know in the comments below what scenes in your life remind you of where you grew up.
